Heroic Horridon is a fight that hinges on DPS doing their jobs properly. The hardest challenge of this fight is proper interrupts, dispels, and DPS to the correct targets at the correct times. Moonkins are very useful in this fight for both solid DPS and group utility. Your personal DPS on meters should be low on your list of priorities during this fight. Maximizing usage of Solar Beam, Nature's Vigil, Stampeding Roar, Remove Corruption, and other utility abilities will allow you to shine on this fight.

Talents, Glyphs, Symbiosis
- Incarnation
- Nature's Vigil
- Typhoon
- Ursol's Vortex
- Glyph of the Moonbeast
- Renewal or Nature's Swiftness Macro
- Glyph of Stampeding Roar
- Symbiosis - Unending Resolve / Cloak of Shadows / Anti-Magic Shell - Mass Dispel DOES NOT WORK for Venom Bolt Volley
Ability Usage
- Wild Charge - Between doors, moving for Charge, moving out of abilities
- Nature's Vigil - On Cooldown (WeakAuras) - Helps with off healing particuarly during Poison and Frost doors
- Stampeding Roar - When moving between doors
- Remove Corruption - Dispel Hex of Confusion (Amani'shi Beast Shaman), Venom Bolt Volley (Gurubashi Venom Priest), Venom Bolt Volley (Venomous Effusion)
- Solar Beam - Interrupt Zandalari Dinomancer (Dino-Mending), Venomous Effusion (Venom Bolt Volley), Gurubashi Venom Priest (Venom Bolt Volley), Amani'shi Flame Caster (Fireball), Amani'shi Beast Shaman (Chain Lightning)
Rotation
Always use Starsurge procs immediately unless noted. Prioritize Starsurge procs in to adds unless your group's DPS is high enough that you can use a focus cast macro to dump Starsurge in to Horridon. You should use eclipsed dots on all mobs in sight - don't focus on applying uneclipsed dots. It is useful to have a focus cast macro to reapply dots on Horridon. Focus priority on the small adds particularly Gurubashi Bloodlords, Venomous Effusions, Risen Drakkari Warriors, and Risen Drakkari Champions. With enough dot spread you should get plenty of Starsurge procs to use on more adds or Horridon.
Tips
- Use Stampeding Roar to help your raid members move between doors.
- Wild Charge is very useful to help you move between doors, get out of bad stuff on the ground, and get in position for Charge.
- Utilize instant cast spells such as Moonfire & Sunfire to move. Since this fight is prime for multi-dotting, you should have plenty of time to move while applying dots and casting Starsurge. This will allow you to inch towards the next door, position further away from your Direhorn Spirit, and avoid Living Poison / Frozen Orb / Sand Trap / Lightning Nova Totem.
- Direhorn Spirit management is important. Ursol's Vortex can be placed to knock it back and contain small adds throughout different doors. Typhoon can be used to knock it and small adds. If you move between eclipses fast enough, Starfall can be utilized to knock the spirit back. Finally make sure you use the following macro to cast Moonfire and knock the add back (this macro will target the Direhorn Spirit, cast Moonfire, and re-target your target. The net effect is that you save time without having to click targets.):
#showtooltip Moonfire /tar Direhorn Spirit /cast Moonfire /targetlasttarget
- Use Barkskin on every Dire Call cast by Horridon. You can have it cast for every single time. Use defensive abilities from Symbiosis when you have Rending Charge (Gurubashi Bloodlord), Venom Bolt Volley (Gurubashi Venom Priest / Venomous Effusion), and Deadly Plague (Drakkari Risen Warrior / Drakkari Risen Champion). Tranquility if your group is in trouble with debuffs / damage. Be sure to add Rending Charge, Deadly Plague, and Venom Bolt Volley to your raid frame debuff tracking.
- Always use Remove Corruption to dispel Hex of Confusion (Amani'shi Beast Shaman), Venom Bolt Volley (Gurubashi Venom Priest), Venom Bolt Volley (Venomous Effusion). It is imperative that you help the raid dispel debuffs as your healers will NOT have enough to dispel everyone. This is particularly important for Hex of Confusion cast by Amani'shi Beast Shaman. People with the highest DPS and/or tanks should be prioritized for dispels. Use a mouseover macro for quicker dispeling.
- Keep Horridon on focus and utilize focus cast macros to keep your dot uptime higher (and proc more Starsurge). Do not sacrifice add DPS to increase your Horridon DPS.
- Hold your DPS cooldowns (except Nature's Vigil) on the last door (Lightning Door) in order to use them during Bloodlust / Heroism / Time Warp (which your group should be using when War-God Jalak spawns). The only exception is if your group's DPS is very low and you can time them to come back up during the burn. You'll need to adjust to your group.
Common Mistakes
- Not watching your health and using abilities such as Barkskin.
- Not using a macro to handle the Direhorn Spirit
- Forgetting to dispel Venom Bolt Volley & Hex of Confusion
- Failure to utilize Wild Charge and Stampeding Roar for movement.
- Not moving to better position yourself when casting instant cast spells.
- Focusing too much DPS on Horridon and not enough on killing adds.
- Never interrupting casts with Solar Beam because it's "someone else's job".
- Tunneling DPS and taking extra damage from stuff like Sand Trap.
UI Setup
- Use these WeakAuras to help with different debuffs
