Heroic Jin'rokh is one of the easier fights in Throne of Thunder. The hardest challenge of this fight is dodging Lightning Diffusion during Lightning Storm. Moonkins are no better or worse than most classes for this particular encounter. Your DPS will be highly dependent on how much you min/max your positioning and how bad RNG is with Focused Lightning.

Tips
- Stay in Conductive Water right up until the last second before Jin'rokh casts Lightning Storm. You should be able to get 2-5 extra seconds if you don't move out early. This is dependent on Focused Lightning & Ionization timings.
- Inch towards the outside of the Conductive Water every time you cast an instant cast spell such as Moonfire & Sunfire. This will allow you to get your movement in while you are on global cooldown as opposed to moving later and wasting casts.
- Avoid letting a ball of Focused Lightning go through you when it's attached to other raid members
- Pop Barkskin whenever you are going to be hit by a Focused Lightning or Ionization dispel.
- Watch your own health for Static Wound. Be sure to either spec Renewal or have your Nature's Swiftness Macro ready if you get low.
- Make use of Wild Charge and Stampeding Roar to DPS up until the last possible second inside the Conductive Water. Wait until the last minute for Focused Lightning, Ionization, and Lightning Storm.
- Focus on staying alive during Lightning Storm. Only if you know for a fact you won't get hit by Lightning Diffusion should you bother DPSing. Make sure to zoom your camera out using the command "/console cameraDistanceMax 50" so you can see Lightning Strike.
- If at all possible, do not run out for dispels of Ionization. Use the WeakAuras below to monitor your debuff and instead use Wild Charge and/or Stampeding Roar to move out at the last possible instant. Allow the debuff to fade from its duration expiring instead of from a healer dispel. Too many people run out and stand waiting for a dispel and waste their DPS. If at all possible, get Cloak of Shadows from a Rogue or Anti-Magic Shell from a DK through Symbiosis and use it just before Ionization is cast to gain immunity from the debuff being applied on you. Do not cast it late or you will wipe the raid as it will dispel the debuff off of you inside the Conductive Water.
- Never pop DPS CDs outside of a Conductive Water pool.
Common Mistakes
- Not watching your health and using abilities such as Barkskin.
- Letting other players' Focused Lightning go through you.
- Too much movement and failure to maximize time inside Conductive Water through use of Wild Charge and Stampeding Roar.
- Attempting to DPS during Lightning Storm when you're not comfortable with the fight. It's easy to calculate your DPS when you're dead on the floor. (Learn from Sebudai)
- Running out for a dispel of Ionization instead of moving out when it's about to expire and letting it fall off.
- Popping DPS CDs off the pull instead of when inside a Conductive Water pool.
UI Setup
- Use these WeakAuras to help with different debuffs
- Import this WeakAura for Ionization tracking [LINK MISSING]
Summary (TL:DR)
- Pop personal CDs for Ionization and Focused Lightning
- Get Cloak of Shadows or Anti-Magic Shell for Ionization
- Focus on staying alive during Lightning Storm over DPSing
- Maximize time inside Conductive Water by using Wild Charge
- Don't let other players' Focused Lightning go through you
- Use Renewal or Nature's Swiftness Macro religiously.
- Use DPS CDs only inside Conductive Water pools

Do you guys have your warrior cast Mass Spell Reflect for ionization and just dispel/let the debuff fall off the remaining players that were out of its range?
ReplyDeleteOr does Mass Spell Reflect even work on that fight?
DeletePretty sure Mass Spell reflect doesn't work. We usually just have people use their immunity spells like AMS and Cloak of Shadows .... then we just dispel/let the debuff fall off if necessary for any remaining people. Healers almost always get their own dispel immediately after it goes out.
